Band Mode: How a Virtual Band Room Will Work

A preview of Band Mode, VibeSing's planned group feature for recording, cloning, and generating a shared AI cover clip with multiple voices in one room.

April 5, 2026

Roadmap preview: Band Mode is not live yet — this page describes the planned experience. Today, friends can each make their own version of your clip in one tap from your share page.

Making music with friends usually requires everyone to be in the same room with the same gear. Band Mode — VibeSing's planned group feature — is designed to remove both constraints: each person joins a shared room, records a short voice sample on their own device, and the group collectively generates one clip that blends all their voices.

Creating a Band Room (planned)

The design: name your room, set the maximum number of members your plan supports, and get an invite link to send however you like — iMessage, Discord, group chat.

Recording in a room (planned)

The plan is for each participant to join the room and record their own voice sample independently — no group call required. It's meant to work asynchronously: a friend in Tokyo could record at 9am their time, while you record at your own convenience, with the room waiting until everyone's submitted a sample before generation becomes available.

Async by design

Once this ships, group covers will likely work best when everyone records within the same day — momentum matters more than perfection.

Choosing a song together (planned)

The design gives the room creator the song choice, browsing the same trending feed that's live in Studio today — weekly and monthly charts across markets. Picking a song everyone in the group knows should make the result more fun to share.

Generating and sharing (planned)

Once all voices are recorded and the song is selected, the room creator would trigger generation, with the pipeline blending all voice contributions together. Every room member would then be able to access the clip and export their own copy.

  • No simultaneous recording required — fully async, by design
  • Each participant controls their own voice data
  • The finished clip would be shared across all room members
  • Exportable as a short vertical video for social platforms — this part already works for solo clips today

What you can do right now

You don't need Band Mode to get your friend group involved. Make your own cover, send the share link to the group chat, and challenge everyone to tap Make your version — each friend records their own take of the same song, in their own voice, on their own time.
