Can I Clone Someone Else's Voice?
No. VibeSing only trains on the voice you record yourself. Cloning another person without consent is the line we will not cross — legally, ethically, or in the product.

VibeSing clones the authenticated user who is sitting in front of the mic. The recording step is first-person by design: you speak the prompts. There is no catalog of Drake, Taylor, or anime models. There is no "paste a podcast URL and steal that timbre" button.
That is the product difference versus community-model cover sites, and it is also the ethical one. Voice cloning ethics is the longer argument. This page is the rule.
Why "it's just a joke" is still a no
A surprise clip in someone else's voice sounds like a fun birthday idea until it is a clip you cannot take back. Consent after the fact is not consent. Deepfake-voice laws are expanding (Tennessee's ELVIS Act is the headline example; other places are catching up). Platforms already remove impersonation. We are not going to be the tool that made it easy.
If you want a birthday artifact, cover their favorite song in your voice and put their name on the share card. That is the birthday gift flow. They still cry. Nobody gets impersonated.
What if they are in the room and willing?
They sign in as themselves and record their prompts. Then you send them your share link and they tap Make your version. That is two consented clones of the same song, not you holding the phone to their mouth while logged in as you. Can friends remake my cover?. A fuller group Band Mode is on the roadmap; it will still be each person recording their own voice.
What about "AI cover generators" with artist names on them
Those exist. They are a different category, and they are the ones collecting lawsuits and takedowns. VibeSing is not trying to win that race. If that is what you wanted, we are the wrong app, on purpose.
Open the studio and clone the only voice you have the right to: yours.
