The challenge: pick a song whose genre or attitude fights your public identity, then generate it in your voice. Soft-spoken people on a feral chorus. Metal-show energy on a whisper-pop track. Post with #WrongGenreRightVoice and one line that names the clash: "I am a [your thing]. This is still my voice."
#SameFaceNewVoice is "a song you would never karaoke." This one is identity vs. catalog: the joke is the mismatch between who you are known as and what the track is, not just personal embarrassment. Still not a Sabrina Carpenter model. Still not text-to-song. The voice has to be the one your friends would pick out of a voicemail.
The rules (there are barely any)
- Right voice = yours. Three English samples. If the contrast requires sounding like aespa or The Weeknd, you failed the rule. Own voice only.
- Wrong genre is relative to you. A K-pop stan covering Ditto is not contrast. That same person covering Shape of You or drivers license might be. A folk-playlist person on Supernova or bad guy is the assignment.
- Caption the clash. If we cannot tell what is "wrong," it is just a cover. Say the identity in words.
- Demo or rights-cleared upload. No ripping a genre as an excuse to upload a file you do not have permission for.
- Hashtag. #WrongGenreRightVoice. Then Make your version to someone whose identity clashes the other way.
Why this works
Genre is a costume people already understand. Voice is the thing they trust. Putting them in a fight is cheap cinema. You do not have to produce a genre-swap remix or re-record guitars. Stem separation keeps the original production; singing voice conversion hangs you on top. The track stays Olivia Rodrigo or NewJeans or Dua Lipa. You stay you.
It is also a useful recording lesson. If your "wrong" song is a belt and your samples are indoor speaking, the clash might just sound broken. That is data. Try a contrast song that still sits mid-range — Peaches vs. your usual Cruel Summer — before you pick a scream. Clean samples keep the identity recognizable, which is the whole hashtag.

- Generate. If it does not sound like you, re-record the samples; do not hunt a celebrity preset (there isn't one).
- Post the share page with #WrongGenreRightVoice. Screen-record if you want a Reel; the URL is enough for the group chat.
