Is It Legal to Post AI Cover Songs?

You can usually share a personal AI cover for fun. Monetizing, impersonating, or using someone else's voice is a different — and often not legal — story.

Personal, in your voice, for sharing: usually the safe lane

An AI cover of a popular song, sung in your own recorded voice, shared with friends or posted as a fan clip, sits close to how people have posted karaoke and cover videos for years. Platforms still have their own music libraries, mute rules, and (increasingly) AI-content labels. That is a terms-of-service question as much as a copyright one.

It is not a blanket license to sell the track, upload it to Spotify as if you wrote it, or put a celebrity's voice on it.

The three lines people actually cross

Someone else's voice. Cloning a person without consent is the bright line VibeSing is built around. The recording flow is first-person on purpose. Can I clone someone else's voice? — no.
Monetization. Running ads, selling downloads, or claiming the composition is a different activity than sending a birthday clip. Can I use AI covers commercially?
Passing it off as the original artist. Even with your voice, a caption that says "official" or omits that it is a cover/AI clip is how posts get reported. VibeSing share pages and video exports carry an AI-cover disclosure for a reason.

TikTok, Reels, Shorts

Short-form apps license a lot of music and also scan for unlicensed audio. A clip can still get muted, blocked in some countries, or labeled. That happens to regular covers too.
