Looking for an AI karaoke app? Read this before you download one
Most 'AI karaoke' searches mix scoring karaoke with AI covers. VibeSing clones your voice onto a real song — it does not grade a live take like Smule.

"AI karaoke app" usually means one of two products. People mix them up because both involve a song, a phone, and your voice.
Karaoke is you singing live over a backing track. A score, a room, a duet button. AI cover is a model singing the song in a voice trained on your samples. You listen to a finished clip. VibeSing is the second thing.
If you wanted the first, a scoring karaoke app is still the right download. The side-by-side is VibeSing vs Smule. The concept split is AI cover vs karaoke — this page is only the search-intent version so you do not train a clone when you wanted a pitch meter.
What an AI cover "karaoke" session actually looks like
- Open Studio.
- Record three short English prompts. Speaking is enough. You do not need to know how to sing.
- Pick a trending demo or upload a song you have rights to.
- Generate. The output is a cover, not a live take with a score.
- Share the page. Friends tap Make your version — they record their own prompts, they do not jump on your mic.
There is no on-screen lyric race, no "90 points," no live duet room. A group mix where several voices share one track (Band Mode) is on the roadmap, not in the studio today.
That loop is still the thing a lot of "I wish I could karaoke but I freeze" searches are after. How to make an AI cover without singing.
Wrong app test
If you will be disappointed without a live score and a public karaoke feed, this is the wrong product. If you want a file of you on a real hook to send in a chat, keep going.
Karaoke apps vs VibeSing, in one screen
| You want | Better fit | | --- | --- | | Live performance, pitch score, duets | Smule-class karaoke | | Hear yourself on a chart song without performing it | VibeSing | | Practice singing as a skill | Karaoke | | A shareable clip with a remake button | VibeSing | | Friday night in a room with friends | Karaoke (the room wins) |
VibeSing will not make you a better live singer. It will not hide that you skipped the performance. The charm is recognition — "that's your speaking voice on Espresso" — not a high score.
What people mean by "AI" inside karaoke apps
Many karaoke apps now add pitch correction, vocal effects, or a light AI polish on a take you still have to sing. That is enhancement of a performance. VibeSing skips the performance: clone speaking voice to sing, then generate.
Different input, different output. Do not expect VibeSing to replace a karaoke night, and do not expect Smule to clone a 30-second sample into a finished cover.
Cost to try the cover version
Free is 100 credits a month — about 10 songs — one lifetime voice train, 4 MB uploads. Train 10 credits, clip 10, cover 15. Pro $9 / 900, Premium $19 / 2,000, Max $39 / 4,200. Pricing, is AI voice cloning free?.
You are paying for generations, not for a songbook subscription with scoring.
Posting the "karaoke" clip
It is still a cover of someone else's song. Fan posts are the designed lane; monetized uploads are not a license. Is it legal to post AI covers?. For Shorts-specific claims, YouTube Shorts AI covers.
Clone only your voice. Can I clone someone else's?.
If the cover job is what you meant, how to make an AI cover is the walkthrough. Open Studio, read the prompts, skip the scoreboard.
AI cover, not karaoke scoring — generate the song in your voice.
